WHY DO YOU NEED BODY CONTROL? 

 

In order to stay safe on the trail ride you will need to have shoulder control, this allows you to fix jigging, spookiness, and the "looky" horse.  You will need the inside rein inside foot in order to get the horse to stand still and relax.  You will need the hip control to go over obstacles and stay safe.  

 

In order to have beautiful transitions you will need shoulder and hip control.  In order to do maneuvers such as a spin or a rollback you will need a way to attach the inside rein to the inside front foot, you will need them to put their weight onto their hocks, you will need to be able to engage the hip, and have a soft rib cage.  

The idea of not knowing how to do these fundamentals for a horse owner.  Is as crazy as a painter that does not own a paint brush, tape, roller, etc.
